Roxanne Jones

I am working primarily at the elementary level as a Health and Career coordinator, Social Responsibility/Prevention coordinator and District Counselor.  My main area of focus is in the support of teachers as they learn and teach their students skills related to social/emotional learning.  I believe strongly in, and current research has affirmed that,  the teaching of academic subjects needs to be combined with the teaching of social emotional skills to maximize student achievement.  For me, as a counselor, and coordinator,  it is an exciting time to be involved with the growth of interest and implementation of curriculum designed to promote the social/emotional development of students.
